Inaugural Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony of Bal Sansad 2.0 was a heartwarming and inspiring event that set the perfect tone for the day. Young delegates were welcomed into a space that celebrated their curiosity, creativity, and courage — a space where their ideas truly mattered. The ceremony began with a lamp-lighting ritual, symbolising the illumination of young minds, followed by an overview of the conference's vision and agenda.
Distinguished dignitaries and RYS Co-Founders addressed the young participants, emphasising that today's students are tomorrow's policymakers. Their words resonated deeply, reminding every child in the room that even at a young age, their voice can create meaningful change — and that it is never too early to begin the journey of leadership.
Committees & Their Discussions
Young delegates took on the roles of elected representatives and engaged in lively parliamentary proceedings within the Lok Sabha committee. They debated pressing issues relevant to their daily lives — from school facilities and neighbourhood safety to access to clean water and fair education — learning to frame arguments, listen actively, and propose solutions.
The committee fostered a spirit of healthy competition and collaboration as participants experienced the art of democratic debate firsthand, emerging with a stronger sense of civic responsibility and the confidence to speak up for what they believe in.
In the United Nations committee, delegates stepped into the shoes of global representatives and discussed pressing international issues simplified for young minds. Topics ranged from environmental protection and climate change to the importance of peace and cooperation among nations — making global governance tangible and relatable.
Participants learned how countries work together to address shared challenges, developing a sense of global citizenship and empathy that well exceeded their years. The discussions were lively, creative, and marked by genuine enthusiasm for building a better world.
The Green India Council brought together young environmentalists who deliberated on pressing ecological concerns — from plastic pollution and deforestation to water conservation and clean energy. Each delegate was encouraged to propose one actionable "green pledge" that their school or community could realistically adopt.
The committee sparked a deep connection with nature and responsibility, moving participants from passive observers to active problem-solvers. Ideas flowed freely, with many proposals showing remarkable originality and a genuine understanding of the environmental challenges facing India and the world.
The Creative Press committee gave young journalists and storytellers a platform to express their ideas through writing, visual communication, and on-the-spot reporting. Participants took on the roles of editors, reporters, and photographers, covering the day's proceedings and crafting compelling stories about the issues they cared about most.
The committee nurtured creativity, communication, and critical thinking in equal measure. By the end of the day, participants had a tangible product — a mini newspaper or report — that captured the spirit of Bal Sansad 2.0 and demonstrated the power of youth voices in the media landscape.
Valedictory Ceremony
The Valedictory Ceremony of Bal Sansad 2.0 was a celebration of young voices, big ideas, and bright futures. With pride and joy, the award ceremony recognised the most outstanding young delegates across all four committees, honouring their courage, creativity, and commitment to meaningful dialogue. Certificates, trophies, and medals were distributed to participants who had truly distinguished themselves through the course of the day.
The closing address by the Co-Founders reminded every participant that the values they had explored — equality, empathy, and responsibility — are not just words to be debated but principles to be lived. As the curtain fell on Bal Sansad 2.0, every child walked away a little taller, a little more confident, and a great deal more inspired.
